I am specially interested in the Crystallo II Pro ability to play all video files with external subtitles. I understand even TS files are compatible with ext. subs, is that true?. Are .srt with and without tags supported?. Can the font be changed and positioned freely?... Until now most software based players were unable to play TS files with external subtitles (.srt) and perform flawless deinterlacing (specially in badly flagged streams)... Will Crystallo II Pro work with ext. subtitles without a glitch?. Would you please send a screen capture of a HD file with external subtitles to see how do them look.

External subtitle support is not completed yet. .srt with/without tag will be supported. We are still working on it so not much info can be disclosed at this moment. Stay tuned.

Any news on the .srt subtitle support for TS files? If it is finally implemented I'll be buying the VPS3800 for sure!

.srt support for TS files is partially completed and it is running ok on our development system.

However, we shall freeze the codes of Crystalio II for release candidate soon. So the .srt support will not be available on firmware release 1.0. Firmware upgrade will be provided later to support this feature.

Oh! What a pity... Any news on when that firmware upgrade would be available? Would the quality of deinterlacing as good with subs as without them?

It will be available Q1 2006 through firmware upgrade. Deinterlacing signal with subtitles is the strength of the Gennum VXP.

Glad to hear. What dealers are available for European customers (I live in Spain) plus a quick question: will I be able to connect and external DVD-Rom player (via USB 2 or Firewire) and play TS files with external subtitles from it???

External USB DVD-ROM drive will be supported (for TS play back with SRT subtitle).

Also will be supported file 1080i with estension "t.p"?

So, can we processed to 1080p?
